Buena Park, Calif. — September 7, 2025 — A two-hour standoff ended with the arrest of a suspect Sunday evening following a police pursuit that began in Buena Park and concluded in Anaheim near La Palma Avenue and Brookhurst Street.
According to the Buena Park Police Department, the incident began around 6:30 p.m. when officers observed a vehicle leaving the scene of a traffic collision near Beach Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver refused to comply, prompting a pursuit eastbound into Anaheim. Officers initiated a PIT maneuver that brought the vehicle to a stop, but the suspect barricaded themselves inside, refusing to exit.
SWAT teams from both Buena Park and Anaheim Police Departments responded, deploying armored Bearcat vehicles. After several hours, officers fired pepper balls into the vehicle, leading to the suspect’s surrender. Paramedics from Anaheim Fire and Rescue transported the individual to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Authorities later confirmed the suspect faces multiple felony charges, including DUI, felony evasion, and resisting arrest.
