December 13, 2025 – Riverside, CA —A late-evening crash on State Route 60 in Riverside left one man dead and a woman in grave condition after a pickup truck overturned on the freeway. The collision was reported around 7:40 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of SR-60, west of Day Street. Crews from the Riverside Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and found a pickup truck overturned with two occupants trapped inside, along with a dog. Firefighters worked to extricate both occupants from the vehicle. A female passenger was rescued and transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries and is reported to be in grave condition. The male driver was also extricated but was pronounced deceased at the scene. The dog found inside the vehicle appeared uninjured and was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol. Riverside County Animal Services was requested to respond and take custody of the animal.
