November 26, 2025 – Reseda/Los Angeles, CA — A chaotic scene unfolded late Wednesday night after a multi-vehicle collision at Tampa Avenue and Sherman Way left one car engulfed in flames and triggered a hit-and-run investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to the LAPD, an unknown vehicle, later destroyed in the fire, collided with two other cars at the busy intersection. Moments after the impact, one of the vehicles burst into flames, sending smoke and fire into the air and drawing dozens of neighbors outside after hearing the explosive crash.
The driver of the burning vehicle fled on foot, leaving behind two passengers: an Asian female and an Asian male, both of whom officers say appeared intoxicated. The pair was seen sitting on a curb as police questioned them about the circumstances of the collision.
LAPD is treating the incident as a DUI hit-and-run and is currently searching for surveillance footage that may have captured the crash or the fleeing driver. Two SOTs and two cell phone videos documenting the burning car were submitted as part of the investigation.
