Los Angeles, CA – Early Wednesday morning, around 1:30 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a distressing report of a stabbing at an apartment located at 13561 Sherman Way.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed that a stabbing had occurred. They learned that the suspect, identified as a female roommate of the victim, had retreated into her apartment and barricaded herself inside. Complicating the situation, a 6-month-old baby girl was also inside the apartment, raising urgent concerns for the child’s safety.
The relationship between the baby, the suspect, and the victim remains unclear. Officers quickly made entry into the apartment, successfully rescuing the baby and taking the suspect into custody without further incident.
As paramedics were requested for the infant, it was reported that the baby was suffering from a bite wound. The suspect was escorted out of the apartment and placed in the back seat of a patrol car, where she began kicking the window in a display of agitation.
