On the night of August 29, 2024, at approximately 10:45 PM, a Phoenix Police cruiser was involved in a vehicle collision near 43rd Avenue and Buckeye Road. The incident resulted in one Phoenix Police officer being transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. The occupants of the other vehicle declined medical care at the scene. As of now, it remains unclear if speed or impairment played a role in the crash. Phoenix Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision and are actively examining the events leading up to the incident.
