Riverside, August 11, 2024 – In the early hours of August 11, Riverside Police Department officers responded to a distress call at a residence located at 920 Central Ave. Upon arrival at approximately 2 a.m., officers discovered two individuals who had sustained critical stab wounds.
According to Riverside Police Department Public Information Officer Ryan Railsback, the incident appears to stem from a domestic altercation. Preliminary reports indicate that a man attacked a woman with a knife during the confrontation. The woman, in an act of self-defense, managed to use a knife against the man, resulting in both parties suffering from severe injuries.
Emergency services transported both individuals to a nearby hospital, where they are currently being treated for multiple stab wounds. The condition of both victims remains critical as investigations into the incident continue.
The Riverside Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the altercation and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
