CROSBY, TX – A tragic accident early Saturday morning resulted in the death of one person in front of the Walmart on FM 2100 in Crosby. The incident occurred at approximately 5:08 a.m. on August 10, 2024.

According to the Crosby Volunteer Fire Department, a Hispanic male in his 40s was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was traveling southbound on FM 2100 when, for reasons yet to be determined, the driver veered onto the sidewalk. The vehicle struck one pole before crashing into another, leading to the fatal outcome.

The impact was severe, and although the airbags deployed, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, which may have contributed to the fatality. Authorities confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing as officials work to determine the cause of the accident. No further details have been released at this time.
