Riverside, CA – On the afternoon of June 14, 2025, around 3:30 p.m., Riverside Police officers responded to reports of a man possibly armed with multiple weapons outside Laws Restaurant located at 9640 Indiana Avenue. The call came in following an alleged political confrontation earlier in the day on the 91 Freeway and 14th Street overpass. Witnesses at the scene stated that the individual and his companion, both wearing pro-Trump shirts and driving a vehicle decorated with political and Trump-related stickers, were involved in a verbal altercation with protesters before the police response. When the pair exited the restaurant, officers swiftly moved in, detaining the men and searching their vehicle for weapons. Despite the report of a potential threat, no weapons were found, and it remains unclear whether the individuals were formally arrested. The California Highway Patrol had also received earlier reports of a group believed to be affiliated with the Proud Boys in the same area, though it is uncertain if the detained individuals are part of that group.
