Juvenile Shot at Large House Party in Compton

Compton, CA — May 30, 2026 — A juvenile was injured in a shooting at a large house party in Compton late Saturday night, prompting a major response from law enforcement and leading to additional disturbances in the surrounding neighborhood. At approximately 11:00 p.m., deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of gunfire near Central Avenue and Rosecrans Boulevard. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that hundreds of juveniles were attending the gathering, many of whom were believed to be between 11 and 14 years old. Authorities said one juvenile had been struck by gunfire and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Investigators reported that the victim was in stable condition as deputies continued to gather evidence and interview witnesses. While authorities were processing the shooting scene, multiple fights reportedly broke out among partygoers. The disturbances spread across several blocks, creating chaotic conditions and drawing additional law enforcement resources to the area. Residents expressed frustration as large groups of juveniles moved through nearby streets, particularly between Rosecrans Boulevard and 135th Street, causing concerns about safety and public disorder.
