San Bernardino, CA – On the night of May 23, 2025, a high-speed pursuit involving armed carjacking suspects ended near W 48th Street and Creekside Drive in San Bernardino, after four juvenile suspects fled the vehicle and attempted to escape into a nearby flood control channel. San Bernardino PD and California Highway Patrol were pursuing the car around 10:50 p.m. when the suspects bailed out and ran on foot. A CHP K-9 unit was deployed and assisted in the apprehension of one of the suspects. The remaining three were also detained shortly after. After the suspects fled, the unoccupied car continued rolling westbound into oncoming lanes before a CHP officer intercepted and stopped it. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered multiple firearms, including an AR pistol and at least one high-capacity drum magazine. Authorities confirmed that all suspects were juveniles. AMR paramedics evaluated them at the scene, but all declined further medical treatment. The carjacking victim was reportedly unharmed.
