Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on 170 Freeway in North Hollywood

North Hollywood, CA — May 10, 2026 — A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning in a crash on the southbound California State Route 170 beneath the U.S. Route 101 interchange in North Hollywood. The fatal collision was reported at approximately 2:37 a.m. Emergency crews responded to the freeway and found the rider deceased in the traffic lanes. The damaged motorcycle was located farther down the roadway, suggesting the crash involved a significant impact or loss of control. Authorities have not confirmed whether another vehicle was involved or whether the incident may have been a hit-and-run collision. Investigators are reviewing evidence from the scene to determine what happened before the crash. The southbound freeway remained shut down for several hours while officials processed the scene, documented evidence, and worked to clear the roadway. The closure caused early morning traffic delays in the area.
