The incident began around 3:00 a.m. near Imperial Highway and Grand Avenue in South LA when police initiated a pursuit of the suspect vehicle.
According to authorities, the SUV led officers on a reckless chase reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. The suspect weaved through multiple freeways—including the 105 and 110—and exited briefly onto surface streets in Downtown Los Angeles before returning to the freeway.
The pursuit came to a crashing halt when the driver lost control of the SUV, causing it to flip over near 11th Street. Despite the severity of the crash, both occupants attempted to flee on foot. Officers were able to quickly apprehend the driver, who was reportedly tased during the arrest. He was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. The second suspect initially evaded officers by hiding in nearby bushes but was later located and taken into custody. He, too, was transported to the hospital for undisclosed reasons.
