A suspected DUI driver was taken into custody Sunday night following a solo vehicle crash in the city of Stanton. At approximately 8:39 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s deputies and Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded to reports of a traffic collision in the 8500 block of Cerritos Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders found a vehicle resting on its side after it had slammed into a parked pickup truck. Remarkably, the driver of the overturned vehicle was able to self-extricate and declined medical treatment at the scene. However, following an on-scene investigation, deputies determined the driver was under the influence and placed him under arrest on suspicion of DUI. No injuries were reported in connection with the crash, and no other vehicles or individuals were involved beyond the parked truck that sustained damage.
