San Jose, CA – A brush fire broke out Saturday afternoon at the Guadalupe Recycling Facility, prompting a swift multi-agency response, including air support, as flames spread through dry vegetation near 15999 Guadalupe Mines Road. The incident was first reported at approximately 3:04 p.m., with multiple callers alerting authorities to the presence of a growing fire. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the presence of active flames and quickly requested aerial assistance to contain the blaze. Two air tankers and a helicopter were dispatched to the scene to assist ground crews. Thanks to the rapid and coordinated efforts of firefighters on the ground and in the air, the fire was successfully held to an estimated 5 to 7 acres. No structures were damaged, and there were no reported injuries. Crews remained on scene into the evening to perform mop-up operations and monitor for hotspots. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
