An explosion inside a Moreno Valley home on Friday morning injured two people and triggered a fire, with investigators now probing the possibility of illegal drug manufacturing at the residence. The incident occurred at approximately 10:28 a.m. in the 13000 block of Pattilynn Drive, near Bay Avenue. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, multiple engine crews were dispatched after receiving 911 calls from neighbors reporting a loud explosion followed by smoke pouring from a two-story home. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the house engulfed in smoke and quickly located two injured occupants inside. The victims, whose identities have not been released, suffered burn-related injuries and were transported to Riverside University Medical Center. Authorities noted that the injuries, while serious, were not believed to be life-threatening. Emergency crews contained the fire by 11 a.m., and no neighboring homes were damaged in the incident. Sheriff’s deputies closed off the area to traffic as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and secure the scene. Preliminary findings pointed to the presence of an illegal drug lab inside the residence. A hazardous materials team was deployed to handle the cleanup, while Cal Fire law enforcement and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department detectives were notified to take over the investigation.
