According to the Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division (VCD), the incident happened around 1:14 a.m. in the 12000 block of Bissonnet Street. Preliminary reports indicate that a four-door sedan — possibly blue or black — was traveling westbound on Bissonnet when it struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway heading north. The vehicle did not stop and fled the scene, failing to render aid. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and located the victim, described as an adult Hispanic male, lying unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department personnel.Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and seeking witnesses who may have seen the vehicle before or after the impact. The identity of the victim has not been publicly released pending notification of next of kin.
