High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Compton with Suspect Forcibly Removed from Vehicle

April 29, 2025 – Compton, CA – A high-speed pursuit that began with Chino Police Department officers ended dramatically in Compton Tuesday night, with California Highway Patrol (CHP) units taking the suspect into custody after a tense standoff. At around 10:00 p.m., CHP took over a pursuit initiated by Chino PD involving a suspect in an SUV. The chase concluded near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Rosecrans Avenue after officers successfully executed a PIT maneuver to disable the fleeing vehicle. Despite the vehicle coming to a stop, the suspect refused to comply with commands to exit. CHP officers then approached the SUV, broke out one of the windows, and forcibly removed the suspect from the vehicle. The individual was detained at the scene and subsequently checked by paramedics for any injuries sustained during the arrest. The suspect was later transported to jail. No further details about the suspect or charges have been released at this time.
