April 12, 2025 – Houston, TX – A large residential fire broke out Saturday night in the 6700 block of Thousand Oaks Circle, prompting a second alarm response from the Houston Fire Department (HFD). Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 9:12 p.m. after reports of heavy smoke and flames coming from a home in the area. Upon arrival, crews found the fire had already engulfed a significant portion of the structure, prompting incident command to escalate the response and call for additional units.HFD worked quickly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes. The intensity of the fire and structural challenges led to a prolonged firefighting operation, with multiple engines and ladder trucks on scene. At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, and it is not yet known if anyone was inside the home when the fire started. No injuries to residents or firefighters have been reported as of this update . Investigators are expected to return to the scene in the coming days to examine the site and determine what sparked the fire. Residents in the surrounding area were briefly asked to remain indoors due to heavy smoke.
