CARSON, CA – April 11, 2025 | 4:11 PM — A devastating multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck and three passenger vehicles occurred Friday afternoon at the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Figueroa Street, resulting in one fatality and three serious injuries. Emergency units rushed to the scene just after 4:00 p.m., where they found a chaotic and severe accident site. According to reports, four individuals were injured, with two of them trapped inside their vehicles due to the wreckage. Firefighters worked urgently to extricate the trapped victims. Tragically, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of those involved have not yet been released. The semi-truck involved in the crash reportedly caught fire following the impact, adding to the urgency and danger of the scene. Crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire . Three other victims were transported to a nearby trauma center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The Sepulveda Blvd and Figueroa St intersection has been shut down as the Carson Sheriff’s Department conducts a thorough investigation. The duration of the closure is currently unknown, and drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
