April 11, 2025 – Houston, TX – A tragic head-on collision occurred late Friday night on Atascocita Road, leaving one man dead and two others injured. At approximately 10:45 p.m., Harris County deputies responded to the 1300 block of Atascocita Road, where they discovered a crashed SUV and a pickup truck involved in a severe collision. Emergency Medical Services confirmed that the driver of the SUV, described as a Black male in his late 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that the SUV was traveling westbound on Atascocita Road when the driver lost control in a curve, veered across the center line into oncoming eastbound traffic, and was struck head-on by a pickup truck. The pickup was occupied by a father and his 8-year-old child. Both sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Authorities noted evidence suggesting alcohol involvement on the part of the deceased SUV driver, although toxicology results are pending.
