HAWTHORNE, CA – April 11, 2025 | 12:27 AM — A deadly shooting early Friday morning has left a 16-year-old boy dead and a 32-year-old man in critical condition in the city of Hawthorne. The incident unfolded just after midnight in the 4200 block of W. Broadway, between 122nd and 126th streets. According to authorities, Hawthorne Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 12:27 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the teenage victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A second victim, a 32-year-old male, was also shot during the incident and is currently listed in critical condition . The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau is assisting Hawthorne detectives with the investigation. As of now, no suspect information has been released, and the motive remains unclear. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
