Escondido, CA – March 31, 2025 – 7:20 p.m. – A high-speed pursuit involving a kidnapping suspect ended with a crash and foot chase Monday evening on the 15 Freeway at the Del Lago Boulevard off-ramp in Escondido. According to reports from The Press-Enterprise, the pursuit began in San Bernardino County around 4:45 p.m. when officers attempted to pull over a silver sedan for a vehicle code violation. During the pursuit, authorities discovered that a possible kidnapping victim was inside the fleeing vehicle. The suspect led officers through multiple counties—San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Diego—before crashing into another vehicle near Del Lago Boulevard. The impact left the innocent driver of the struck vehicle injured. After the crash, the suspect fled on foot into a nearby field but was quickly apprehended by a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit . Three individuals were transported to the hospital following the incident: the kidnapping suspect, the kidnapping victim, and the driver of the vehicle that was struck during the crash. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
