San Marcos, CA – March 25, 2025 – 6:50 p.m. – A police pursuit in San Marcos ended with two suspects in custody after reports of a person displaying a firearm in a threatening manner prompted a response from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of a suspect brandishing a firearm. A vehicle matching the suspect’s description was soon located, and deputies attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle refused to pull over, initiating a high-speed pursuit through the area, with the suspect vehicle reportedly reaching speeds of over 80 miles per hour. The chase came to an end at a residence on the 400 block of Autumn Drive. Two male suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Deputies quickly set up a perimeter and managed to detain both individuals. One of the suspects was subdued with the assistance of a K-9 unit and was later transported to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained during the takedown deputies were injured during the incident. Authorities have not yet released information about the recovered firearm or charges the suspects may face.
