Downtown Los Angeles, CA – March 21, 2025 – A man was arrested Friday morning after barricading himself inside an apartment in Downtown Los Angeles, leading to a two-hour standoff with police. The incident began around 6:30 a.m. near 5th Street and Los Angeles Street. According to authorities, the suspect was armed with a knife and a stick and refused to surrender. As a safety precaution, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) deployed an inflatable rescue jump cushion on the street below the apartment window . After negotiations, officers successfully took the suspect into custody without injuries. The motive behind the barricade remains under investigation.
