Whittier, CA – March 5, 2025 – A deadly shooting late Wednesday night has left at least one person dead and another possibly wounded, prompting an investigation by Whittier homicide detectives.
LA County Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at 7635 Greenleaf Avenue, just south of Mar Vista Street, at approximately 10:15 p.m. A white Tesla was found at the location, with one victim pronounced dead at the scene. A second person may have been transported to the hospital, though details remain unclear.
Family members arrived at the scene in distress, with at least one individual transported for a possible anxiety attack.
Investigators believe the shooting originated on Newlin Avenue near Walnut Street. Evidence suggests that gunfire came from an apartment complex along the west sidewalk as the victims drove northbound. After being struck, they continued east on Mar Vista Street and then south on Greenleaf Avenue before stopping near the fire station.
