Houston, TX – February 22, 2025 – A deadly shooting at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Cypress Station has left one man dead, with authorities searching for the suspect.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 10:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they found an adult Black male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim believed to be in his 20s, had arrived at the apartment complex to visit his girlfriend, who was inside with another female friend. An altercation ensued between the victim and another male inside the apartment, escalating to gunfire. It remains unclear whether there was an exchange of gunfire or if the suspect was the sole shooter.
The suspect, described as a dark-skinned Black male wearing a white hoodie, was last seen fleeing the scene in a blue or dark-colored sedan. Deputies are interviewing the two female witnesses to establish the suspect’s connection to the victim and clarify the circumstances leading to the shooting.
