Anaheim, CA – On February 16, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Anaheim Police officers and Anaheim Fire & Rescue personnel responded to a fatal traffic collision at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Broadway. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a woman trapped inside a red crossover SUV. Firefighters used heavy rescue equipment to extract her, and she was transported to the hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to her injuries about an hour later. The other vehicle involved was a white Volkswagen sedan, driven by Samantha Farris, 29, of Buena Park. Officers determined that Farris made an unsafe left turn in front of the victim’s vehicle. Witnesses reported she had been drinking at a nearby business before the crash. Following an investigation, Farris was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and Gross Vehicular Manslaughter. She was medically cleared, booked at the Anaheim Police Department, and later posted bail. The victim’s identity is pending official confirmation and notification of next of kin, but she is believed to be a 56-year-old Long Beach resident.
