San Mateo, CA – On February 5, 2025, at approximately 9:02 p.m., police, fire, and EMS units responded to reports of a subject lying in the bike lane at the intersection of Fashion Island Boulevard and South Norfolk Street. Upon arrival, officers found a victim with no pulse and visible head trauma. Officers immediately began CPR, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
It was determined that the victim had been involved in a hit-and-run collision. Authorities began canvassing the area for surveillance footage to help identify the suspect. At this time, the suspect remains outstanding.
The San Mateo Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is seeking the public’s assistance. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
