San Diego, CA – A tragic collision occurred in the early morning hours of January 5, 2024, on northbound I-15, just south of Miramar Way, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. At approximately 3:32 a.m., a black car traveling northbound slammed into the rear of a white car carrying multiple occupants. The impact sent the white vehicle onto the right shoulder, while the black car came to a stop in the traffic lanes with its lights off. Shortly after, a motorcyclist crashed into the blacked-out black car and was ejected. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. Emergency responders confirmed that one person from the white car was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries, while the other occupants did not require hospitalization. Authorities conducted a Field Sobriety Test on the driver of the black car, who partially complied but refused to continue. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI.
